Get Involved

Pi Phi Interest and Activity Groups offer small group friendships and fun. These groups are open to Pi Phis of all ages and everyone is welcome! 

 

In addition to the opportunities on this page, email richplanopiphi@gmail.com if you want to join any of our club's committees: 

Hospitality Support: Members are needed to help provide snacks and wine and assist with set up and clean up at most meetings.

Founders’ Day Committee: The Founders’ Day Brunch is held in April. Committee members are needed to help plan and prepare for the event.

Fundraising Committee: The Silent Auction is our Club’s fundraising event to support Club operations and is held at the October Meeting. Committee members are needed to help set up and clean up, sell “fishbowl” tickets at the event, and encourage members to bid on items.

Future Officer or Committee Chair: Do you have an interest in serving in an executive position or be willing to lead one of the committees?


ANGEL ENGAGEMENTS  

Periodic gatherings of sisters at various area locations and events. Our 2023-24 engagements include monthly birthday celebrations, Holiday High Tea, plus Mah Jongg in January and Pickleball in March! Sign up as you are able. MONTHLY BOOK CLUB

A monthly meeting where members discuss an agreed-upon book. When: 2nd Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm
for day group and 7:00 pm for evening group. Just discussion with lots of fun and sisterhood! The evening group is an informal Zoom setting. (Note: Due to the number of sisters already in the daytime group, we may need to start a second daytime group on a different day.) Interested? BRIDGE CLUB
Who:  Pi Phis who love to play bridge and/or want to learn each meets monthly.

What: Nighttime Bridge meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Daytime Bridge meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 10:00 am. New members and subs are always welcome. Contact Sharon Eatherly at 972-596-9043 for more information.


PI PHI POP UP!
A Pi Phi Pop-Up is a spontaneous gathering of sisters for brunch, dinner, sporting events, movies, and more. Usually, such events are of short notice hence the name Pop-Up. Text Molly Lancaster at 817-996-6197 to sign up and start receiving the text alerts.  


LOCAL ALUMNAE PANHELLENIC 
Evening meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Membership is open to all Greek women and is a great way to know many NPC sisters in our community. Activities include hosting the annual Sorority Recruitment Information Forum every spring, plus an excellent speaker series. Scholarships are awarded annually. Join our Panhellenic representative, Kay Hopkins, and other Club members in sharing the Pi Phi love with the greater Greek community. Contact Kay Hopkins at kay.hopkins@yahoo.com for information.


CHAMPIONS ARE READERS ® (CAR)
Our premier literacy program: Reading with 3rd grade students at Aikin Elementary in Richardson ISD. No
experience needed - only a listening ear and a tender heart! The time commitment is approximately 1.5 hours per session, Monday and Wednesday afternoons during February. Sign up for as many or few sessions as you are able. Contact Cindy Georgas cingeorgas@aol.com.

 

LITERACY EVENTS

These events reach out to schools and/or literacy programs in the Greater Dallas area and provide opportunities for members to get involved with our Club by reading with kids, donating materials/ refreshments, prepping for craft projects, etc. Contact Laura Curran at curran.laura@verizon.net.


TEXAS SCOTTISH RITE HOSPITAL TREE DECORATING
For more than 30 years our Club has been decorating a tree for the children at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, TX. This is a once-a-year event at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospitals in Dallas and Frisco. Members decorate a tree with our Club’s angel ornaments for the enjoyment of patients and staff. COLLEGIATE SUPPORT (Texas Epsilon UNT) 

These opportunities support a local collegiate chapter in a variety of ways. Alumnae could be asked to assist with life skills for chapter meetings and/or “conversational skills” for recruitment week.
